Product Details

This lovely and fresh frame is based on one of the original objects of the architect Arthur Heun.

Cast in hematite-plated brass, with applied colors. Displays a 3"x4½" print.

Arthur Heun (1866–1946) is considered a member of the Prairie School, a group of American architects who worked in the Midwest about 1890–1920. Inspired by the work of Louis Sullivan, and led by Frank Lloyd Wright, these architects defined a new style characterized by low, horizontal forms fitting harmoniously into the flat terrain of their region.

Constructed in natural materials such as brick, oak, and glass, large open rooms flowed into one another. In addition to the main structure, Prairie-style architects also designed furniture, lighting, and some accessories for their commissions. Our Heun Stained Glass frame is based on original panel in the Museum's collection designed by Arthur Heun for the Sedgwick Brinsmaid House in Des Moines, Iowa.

Available exclusively in the Metropolitan Museum gift shop in NYC and here on SendAFrame.
