Product Details

The intricate design on our 'Dragon Openwork' frame is adapted from the decoration on an original jade disk (Eastern Han dynasty, 25-220) that was excavated in 1959 from the tomb of Liu Yan (d.90) in Dingzhou, Heibei Province.

A longstanding motif in Chinese art, the dragon is associated with rain, fertility, and imperial power. Silver-plated brass.

Overall diameter 5"; display window diameter 1 7/8".

Available exclusively in the Metropolitan Museum gift shop in NYC and here on SendAFrame.

For your shopping convenience, SendAFrame carries the entire line of Met® frames.
